How I do an Appliqué
How I do an Appliqué
Hi!
Although, I love quilting, I rarely work on appliqué. In this vdo, I have made it from scratch to brush up my skills and experience relaxation in the same time. In this project, I used mostly Japanese and hardly Chinese & Thai yarn dyed cotton.
This appliqué work is a part of my new version of embroidery tool case (ua-cam.com/users/shortsOGmXp0Pa1y4?feature=share). I did adjust the size a bit. Unfortunately, I haven't made the full tutorial of this new tool case, but you can see the version 1 here:

It looks like if your machine was really fussy you could cover the edge and go off the side with stabilizer to at least have a ‘catch’ for the bobbin thread
Help, I bought the overcast foot but apparently my sewing machine has the stitch #15 with the straight stitch to the right instead of the left! So the foot does not work and I have not seen one that could work for the other side. My machine model is singer m3305. Anyone know if this is normal or what could I do about it?
I believe that it should be ok as long as the straight stitch isn't at the middle where the overcast foot has a bar on. Try searching "singer m3305 overcast stitch". I saw someone made it.

yeah on my singer i dont have to change legs to get a zig zag. now if i want to make a zig zag and close the edge all at one time i have other legs i brought from amazon very cheaply and great. saves me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much time. your over lay uses toooo much thread sorry

This was such fun to watch. I was imagining putting snaps on the other walls, too, instead of stitching. If I made a carry bag, would be great to have for those times when children need to be quiet, but not take too much room to carry. I think I’ll try it. Thank you! Absolutely yes, but be careful if u make it too big, u may feel uncomfortable when wearing the dress.
Where do you get the plastic sheets from?
Hi, I bought them from a local stationary store long time ago. You may try searching for "plastic template sheet". There'll be many results.
I found them even cheaper at Dollar Tree, too. They’re sold as cutting “boards” in the kitchen tools section. A couple of pieces in each pack. I use them as templates too. Nice plastic sheets.

What’s the equivalent of the Elvira sewing machine you use here in the US? Do you or anyone happen to know?
If u mean the overcasting feature, I believe that most of home use sewing machines have it. Pls check the manual. My previous machine is very basic one and still has this feature (but not many varieties of overcast stitches)
